Nature Republic Argan Essential Deep Care Shampoo, Condition, & Hair Pack

The other day, I was beckoned by Crew Scheduling to report to the airport by 14:05 because they might already have a trip lined up for me. After arriving at the airport and getting what I like to call my life line, coffee, I found out I was going to Incheon, South Korea.

In my mind, I was excited beyond belief. Even though I get the opportunity to go to so many places overseas but Korea has always been a trip that went super senior. So it was practically the Big Foot in terms of trips for us new hires. But then my next thought was that I was going to be freezing to death because I had only packed a light weight jacket. Once I got over the shock, I realized all the shopping that could be done. I couldn't wait!

Though our layover time was around 18-20 hours, there was still a lot that needed to be done. Sleep was one of them, but that most certainly can wait because shopping was definitely more important! And that's when I stumbled across this product ... on purpose!

Nature Republic Argan Essential Deep Care Line is one of their hair care lines that is directed towards replenishing moisture and nutrients back into damaged hair. It is enriched with highly-concentrated organic argan oil that helps restore nutrients back into hair.

This was a product that was recommended to me by my flight attendant friend that was also working the flight. And boy am I glad she did because I have fallen in love. 

The Nature Republic Argan Essential Deep Care Shampoo fully washes your hair without drying out your scalp. I liked massaging it throughout my scalp, so that it not only nourishes my scalp but also the hair follicles. I opted out of using the conditioner and went straight for the Argan Essential Deep Care Hair Pack. This product is similar to a hair mask in that you use it after shampooing your hair. Rather than rinsing it out immediately, you leave the product in your hair for a few minutes to intensify the results. (I naturally have more oil in my face and scalp so when it comes to any type of conditioner or hair masks, I avoid my scalp to prevent even more excess oils from producing.) 

I then lathered the Nature Republic Argan Essential Deep Care Hair Pack on my hair from the ear down to avoid my scalp. I felt the product in my hair, which it gives it time to thoroughly moisture each strand of hair. After rinsing the remaining product, it left my hair feeling soft to the touch without making it feel heavy.

Though I am very satisfy with this line of hair care. However, I'd have to say the outcome that I am most pleased with Nature Republic Argan Essential Deep Care Line is that it moistures and nourish hair without weighing it down. You're hair still has bounce and life unlike other moisturizing products on the market. 

So far I am very happy with this purchase and I can't thank my friend enough of the recommendation.   Not only do I have this new great product in my life that brings my hair back to life but I also can share with you guys!

Reminds Me of Home

It's a very rare occasion when it rains in Dallas. However, I say that half heartedly because when it does rain, it is a down pour that causes many of the highways to flood and shuts down half the town.

But I have to say, whenever it does rain, it reminds me of Seattle. The smell of the water hitting the concrete always brings back memories. Not only that, these are the perfect days to stay at home, comfy in your pajamas and binge watch the last series of American Horror Story on Netflix. One Word: Bedwetter

We've all had our fair share of funny, horrifying, and embarrassing hook-up stories but I must say this one has to take the cake for me... So far.

Ever since I moved to my new apartment in Dallas, I've had the amazing opportunity to meet a lot of new people and subsequently make a lot of new friends. This move has changed my life tremendously and I'm so blessed that I made this decision to do so.

With that said; with new friends come new memories that we make when we hit the town and bar hop from one place to another. Making even more new friends along the way.

This was our typical Friday. We started with brunch at Breadwinners on McKinney, since apparently no one works in this building. After a couple of mimosas, we started to start the weekend early by hanging by the pool; which is where I met a new "neighbor". We'll just call him 'Boston'.

It has to be pretty obvious as to why I've nicknamed him 'Boston' but if you must wonder, he is from Boston and recently moved to Dallas for work; he works in I.T.

I must admit, we hit it off pretty quickly. We joked, talked, and just shot the shit for a few hours before we decided to grab a quick bite to eat.

This is basically how Boston and I met. I don't think I need to seriously have a play by play for the events of the night so long story short, we ended up at my place after a very long night of partying and drinking.

Dun dun dun ..

The next morning, I'm tossing and turning around my bed, not used to sleeping next to someone, we finally get out of bed. As he's putting his clothes back on, I noticed that my sheets are kind of damp. I figured they got wet after we showered when he was laying on my bed. No bid deal; I'll have to wash them anyways.

But now, as I'm laying my bed, I notice a very strange smell. Since my sheets are in the dryer at this point, it couldn't have been the damp sheets. So naturally, I plant my face into my bed and realize that this motherf***** has peed in my bed!

This grown a** man peed in my bed. I understand when you're a child, we have accidents once in a while. But that definitely wasn't the case today. This was a grown man that I stupidly took home after a crazy night of drinking that couldn't hold in his liquor and failed to wake up in the middle of the night to walk two steps to my bathroom to pee. Really?!

I'm not telling you all this to embarrass him. In retrospect, I think this story is kind of funny. This has never happened to me before but I guess we all have to experience everything once in a lifetime. The lesson that I am taking from this experience is to never bring a guy back to my place again; especially if they want to stay the night. I'd much rather be the one that goes to their place. Plus, I'll have the say of when I leave, rather then being the b**** and having to kick the person out.

Step Out Of the Handbag

Let us all thank Duchess Kate Middleton for bring Longchamp into our lives. If it wasn't for her first siting carrying the signature Le Pliage tote, it wouldn't have entered our lives in such a furious way!

No offence to the Duchess and all, but I have to say, I'd like to step out of the box when it comes to Longchamp and take a deeper look at their newest line, the Le Pliage Heritage collection.

As I was strutting my Flight Attendant walk down the terminal in Hong Kong, something of beauty caught my attention. She was shining, grabbing the attention of all those passing by, underneath the spot light.

Isn't she darling?!

As you can see, it's very different from their signature tote that everyone knows and loves. But to me, this helps Longchamp enter into a different category of luxury handbags.

The Le Pliage Heritage is a beautiful leather bag that is sturdier than previous handbags before it. It has a top handle as well as a shoulder strap that allows for one to carry it in multiple ways, each showcasing the handbag in a different light. The structure of this handbag pays homage to their signature collection but the fine details in the curvature and hardware gives this bag the elegant it so rightfully deserves. The gold plated Longchamp logo delicately placed on this handbag low-key flaunts the class of Longchamp and all that it represents.

When I saw this beauty while passing through the terminal, it was as though there was no other handbag in sight. All I could see was the bright Cobalt Blue Le Pliage Heritage sitting on display, as if it were saying, "Buy me .. Take me home with you .." music to a girl's ear

Though Longchamp's signature Le Pliage totes will always have a place in my heart. But step aside, there's a new handbag in town!

Fifty Shades of Seattle

Yes, my girlfriend and I went to see the infamous Fifty Shades of Grey today. As steamy as the scenes are and as hot as Christian Grey may be, the most captivating thing about the movie (for me at least) were all the beautiful shots of Seattle.

It is true when they say you don't know what you have until it's gone. The words "Seattle is a place for retirement" actually came out of my mouth at one point in time. But now that I've moved to Dallas, I finally realized what a wonderful place Seattle really is. 

Not only is it the home to the Seattle Seahawks, this city has probably the most to offer just about anyone. Though everyone knows Seattle for Starbucks, the guys throwing fish at the Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, and not to mention RAIN, there is so much people don't know about this city that I call my home. From the hole in the wall restaurants to the underground city that I've yet to see for myself, Seattle is truly amazing. There are things to do for those that want to stay indoors; shopping, eating, coffee drinking, But the one breath-taking thing about Seattle is all the natural parks and outdoor activities it has to offer. Now there really is no excuse to not stay fit and healthy. 

On the topic of healthy, Seattleites are all about eating healthy and living healthy. We are what we put in our bodies.. So Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are always filled with the stay at home mom picking up groceries for dinner and the busy Sales Executive picking up a quick lunch before heading back to work. 

It's almost been a year since I've relocated to Dallas, but I'll always be a Seattleite at heart. There's nothing more satisfying than rocking my blue and green on game day. But thankfully, I have found my home away from home, McFadden's in Addison, to watch every game. Once you walk in, you see a sea of Seahawks jerseys walking around.

With endless cups of coffee being poured every hour, you can already tell this is the city that never sleeps. Or have we all become so caffeine tolerant that it doesn't make a difference anymore. Either way, regardless you are going to grab your usual at the nearest Starbucks, which is probably a few blocks away, or you're trying out the hole in the wall coffee shop that your friend once told you about, you know you are going to enjoy that smooth cup of joe.

In short, I'm just thankful to have been raised in such a beautiful city where the seafood and coffee is fresh, just ask Joe at the Pike Place Market, and the people are more than friendly. I know I will eventually make my way back to this beautiful city I call home. But until then, I'm happy visiting once a month... I mean, they do say distance does make the heart grow fonder. ❤

[REVIEW] Maybelline The Falsies Big Eyes Rebel Black Waterproof

Okay, you know how it goes. You give things a second chance because either you really have faith or you just can't remember if you like it or not the first time.

That's what happened with this mascara. I've just ran out of my favorite Maybelline Pump Up mascara so I needed to restock. However, while I was standing in the aisle deciding either I should just stick with what I know or try something new/old, I made the conscience decided to pick up the Maybelline The Falsies Big Eyes Rebel Black mascara. The package stated there was a new formula that is even darker than the original. Now, I blame on my curiosity because when I see 'New', I have to try it.

I knew I've tried this mascara before, but with my Alzheimer kicking in, I kid, I can't remember my reaction. So what better opportunity to give it a spine?!

Okay, I have to say, it is an "alright" mascara. Nothing about it screams 'BUY ME!' but if you have nothing else, it is an alright mascara. The only downfall that I have to mention is that it somehow makes my lashes more vulnerable. I notice this because whenever I take off my actual falsies, it also pulls out my real lashes; and that is just something I can't afford! Hello?! I already wear falsies, I can't have my already sparse lashes pulled out when I remove my falsies.

That whole sentence sounded like an oxymoron.

Regardless, I like the mascara. And I will admit, the new formula is very dark and makes your lashes look very bold. And it is a two-in-one; you'll get both a top and bottom lash mascara for the price of one.

So .. Are we dating?!

The other day as I was scrolling down my newsfeed on Facebook and I came across this article on thoughtarticle.com, so you know it's legit, talking about how people date now days. Though I just made a small joke regarding where the article came from, I have to agree with it what it had to say.

People in this day and age never want to solidify anything. Girl likes guy. They have sex. And then what?! We aren't together. We aren't boyfriend and girlfriend. We are just in this limbo that has no category or title. Hello?! Nobody says, "Yeah.. I'm in a situation where I regularly see and have sex with a guy but we aren't dating" ... What is that?! Talk about a conversation starter!

But what can you do? That's what "dating" is like now days. And it goes both ways now. Girls have just as much of a right to not claim a relationship as the guy now. We have our own lives and are independent enough that we don't necessarily need someone; though it would be nice after a nine hour all-nighter flight from Sao Paulo.

Regardless, this really got me thinking. I've seen the people that have relationships after relationships, paving the path to their marriage; I even have friends that are like that. But is that really the life for everyone?! My parents were never the ones to teach me to "dream" to get married. They were very modernize in that aspect in that they thought if I could take care of myself, why get married?! As modern as that idea is, it would still be nice to have someone to come home to. To have someone wait for you and to warm the bed up for you when you come in at 6 am. But as I get older, I don't even see myself in that picture... that's kind of depressing.

It isn't as if I'm against the idea, but it just with how things are going with the new rules of dating, it hard to imagine a life with someone when they can't even agree to be boyfriend/girlfriend. Don't get me wrong, there are still people out there that want and love to be in a real relationship; I just haven't met them yet.

I know that one person is out there for me. I just haven't met them yet. Or maybe I have but timing was wrong. With age, I've also learned that timing is EVERYTHING. But until then, I guess I'm going to have to crawl into bed alone; which is fine since I have a very comfortable bed!

[REVIEW] Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet

Chanel has done it again! They've officially came out with a new foundation and I must say I was instantly drawn to it.

As I was strolling through the department store the other day, I went directly to the Chanel counter with a purpose. I had the full intent to buy the Satisfaction Lipstick that I've been desperately wanting but, of course, they were all sold out. Clearly I wasn't the only one that was in desperation for it. However, just as I was about to leave, since I obviously didn't need anything else, something shiny caught my eye.

Dun, dun, dun! Please help me welcome the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation!

As you can see, the design of the bottle of this foundation is very similar to the Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua. And we all know how much I love that foundation; so right of the bat, I knew this would be a keeper! You know what they say, the best things come in small packages. It's sleek, chic, and just great for travel. Especially if you're going to London and you don't want to check in your luggage. This will definitely fit into that zip lock bag along with all your other liquids.

Just by the title, you can tell the Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation has a matte velvet finish. Which means that it is great for those with oily skin. Pointing at myself. After using this, I realize that you will not have to use a setting powder after apply. And just to prove how great this foundation is, I wore this one day when I had to do a Honduras Turn. If you're a flight attendant, you'll understand how long of a day that is and you're on the plane the entire time in that dry, recycled air. But even after work, my makeup still looked amazing, not oily at all. Though my eye makeup was a little questionable. [insert panda emoji]

I really love the finish of this foundation because it makes your skin look flawless. However, it does this without making you look as if you're applied pounds on makeup on. The velvet-ness of the foundation allows you to remain looking like a real human while removing any shine on your face.

Though it is still a little early but I might be bold enough to say that this could replace Vita Lumiere Aqua's place in my heart. Yes, both are able to make your skin look flawless but the Perfection Lumiere's Velvet finish pushes it to the top.

I'd definitely recommend this foundation to everyone. Especially if you travel often or plan to in the future. The lasting power of this foundation is amazing and helps you stay shine free throughout the day. Yes, ladies... It isn't too good to be true. On top of everything, it smells so good!

Review: LUSH Oatifix Fresh Face Mask

It's no surprise that I love me a good face mask. But finding an awesome mask can sometimes be harder than expected. 

Though I do favor cloth face masks most times, I think I've found something that will forever be in my skin care regiment. And if you can't already tell by the title, it is the LUSH Oatifix Fresh Face Mask. Not only does this mask make my skin feel so refresh and soft after just one use, it's made of all natural ingredients. 

I've tried other masks from LUSH before but I'm going to have to say that this is by far my favorite. It's made mainly with bananas and oatmeal (hence the name) so it targets towards dry and sensitive skin.

Since I've been flying more often than usual, I noticed that my skin was really irritated and dry. Let's be honest, my skin was pretty much yelling at me. I needed something to calm it down; which is how I cam across this! Knowing that oatmeal helps with irritations, I decided to give this a shot! And boy oh boy am I glad. 

The consistency is very thick. Once you apply it on your face, it'll clump together, which is fine because as you're washing it off, it'll help act as a exfoliator. But personally, I like to generally apply a thin layer but lather up on areas that I have bigger pores, i.e around my nose area. After which, I let it sit for about 15-20 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water; scrubbing along the way. 

Immediately you'll notice a difference. Not only is the redness gone but your skin feels so soft! It's seriously amazing. Then I just apply my normal toners, moisturizers to end the night. And the best part is the next morning, the softness of your skin remains and you feel like you have new face to brace the new day! I've also noticed that this really helps when you are having a break out attack! I've noticed after a long trip, I'll have a slight break out. That's when I bust this baby out and it really tones everything down and helps my skin repair more quickly! 

It's safe to say that I recommend this face mask! It's seriously amazing and I don't say that often. I don't think there is a bad thing about this product that comes to mind. Besides the fact that the pot is too small! HA

London, Are You The City For Me?!

Life is all about exploring and adventuring new places. Some we stay for a short period of time and others we want to stay forever. 

Visiting London has always been a dream of mine and I'm lucky enough to have a career that allows me to do it on company time. Not only do I get paid to fly here, I also get paid to venture the city and do some long awaited sightseeing. 

London reminds me of a lot of places all mixed into one. The busyness and tube makes me think of New York. Everyone's constantly on the go and slow walking is unacceptable. The windy weather and overcast reminds me of my home, Seattle. The brisk air is almost conforting.

 

This ultimately makes me wonder, is London the next city that I should "adventure" for longer than 26 hours?! Walking around the city and becoming more and more cultured with every step, I can't help but want to accidentally miss my trip home and stay a little longer. 

And maybe it's their mesmerizing accents, but everything seems much more glamours here than back at home. I mean, com'on; nothing can sound bad with a British accent! 

I know that dropping my life and moving to London is definitely not in the plans right now but a girl can dream. And speaking from experience, dreams do come true!

How Forward is Too Forward

Being a single gal in a new city, meeting new people and making new friends seem to always be top priority. Which shouldn't be a surprise. I am a very extroverted person that loves making new friends. I am a Gemini for goodness's sake. (HA)

But my question is, being a girl, how forward is too forward that can turn a guy away? More importantly, how forward should one be without making a fool of herself; avoiding the rejection feeling.

Since I've been here, I've met people here and there but there is only one person that I'm a little more interested in than the rest. Wanting to get to know him better is on my to-do list but it would be nice to know whether or not if he's actually available first; then we'll work on whether or not if he's interested. Honestly, why can't guys just be more forth coming with information like this. This uncertainty is what I really hate about "the hunt".

"I like you, but I don't know if you feel the same so I'm not going to say anything" ...

 great, it looks like we're not getting anywhere ...

I've talked to friends about this issue and have gotten a mix of responses. 

Carlos (just think of him as my Stanford in Sex and The City) and his partner advised me to just come right now and ask him. According to them, he'll appreciate my straight-forwardness. And if he give me the response that I don't like, he's automatically gay. Now, I'm not quite sure how much I like this idea that either he is interested or he's gay, but could they be right? Should I just come out and text him (yes, this is the texting world now) and say something along the lines that I am interested in him and if he doesn't have a girlfriend, we should grab drinks. Doesn't that sound too forward, coming for a girl nonetheless?

Now on the other side of the spectrum, Kelly mentioned that she would never have the courage to do something like this. Though she isn't a Debby Downer, but she does make a valid point. What if, after I send this daring text, not only is he not gay, but he's just not interested. Clearly me asking him whether or not he has a girlfriend is a sure fire indicator that I would want to pursue something. If things to unfold this way, it could get awkward after that and I would feel completely rejected.

Now I have to ask myself, there really is no harm in asking now is there. Besides, I'll never actually know until I muscle up the courage to say something and guessing is only making my head hurt to be honest. The worst that can happen is he says no and both of us go on about our business. ...

T.V. Baby

Okay, I don't know about you guys but I am definitely a T.V. baby. I mean come on, I practically learned English by watching T.V. (I know, I know. That explains a lot!)

So recently I moved all the way from Seattle to Dallas. Settle down, I'm still a Seattleite :)

However, I quickly realized that moving has to be the biggest pain in the butt. And it's worse when you have a little Mazda MX5, where the trunk space fits about two pairs of shoes! One day, I was trying to fit my t.v. into my trunk, knowing that it was an impossible task, so that when they were moving my car, I could kill two birds with one stone and move my t.v. as well.

Ha! Let's all laugh together because we all know that this was not going to happen. So again, let's do it together this time, HA!

With that all said, I obviously needed to get a new t.v. for my new place. I mean, I can live without a lot of things, but (and I'm embarrassed to say this) t.v. is definitely not one of them!

But with all the brands, models, and sizes out there, how is a girl that knows little about electronics supposed to pick?! Once I finally settled on a brand, the next question was whether or not to get a regular t.v. or a smart t.v. Aside from the difference in functions, the other major difference was their prices, where the smart t.v. was about $100 more.

Now, living on a flight attendant salary and just moving out, that extra $100 would go towards something else. But then I found the best solution to my problem without having the spend that much more but still get my t.v. to function as if it was a smart t.v.

Ta-da! Here was the answer, a Chromecast; which only cost me $35.00!

This little HDMI input allows one to stream t.v. shows, movies, and yes, even YouTube videos on your t.v. through your iPhone, iPad, Tablet, and computer. Meaning, without having to spend the extra $100, I am able to have a t.v. that functions just like a smart t.v.

Now you're probably thinking to yourself, this is too good to be true. And yes, I am raving about this handy little product, but it does have its downfalls.

One of which is one can only stream Hulu Plus via iPad/tablet or phone. In that, you must use the Hulu Plus App in order to cast it to your chromecast. But to be honest, this is the only draw back about the Chromecast that I can think of. The setup is easy and it's very user friendly! So I think I can manage using my phone when I want to watch Hulu Plus.

So all in all, I really recommend this product to those that don't to splurge on a smart t.v. but would like all the functions of one! Again, it's easy to use, the HDMI input is small and fits perfectly behind your t.v. so it's not noticeable, and it just works!

I know this isn't a topic that I usually talk about but like I said, I've recently moved out and this is the best time for one to venture out and try new things. Especially if you are working on a budget!

I'm back! A New and Better Version!

So it's a complete understatement when I say I've ignored you guys for the past few months.

I've literally been MIA and neglected this place. Sorry! But to my defense, I have a very good "excuse". Regardless, I'm back!

So where did we left off?!

The last you heard, I was completing the last assessment on whether or not I become this "thing" that I've been working so hard to be. Well the cats out of the bag. I've done it. I am officially a flight attendant now!

Yes, you heard me right! I am a flight attendant! And the reason I wasn't blogging or YouTube-ing for the past few months is because I was busy at training. And let me just say, flight attendant training is no joke. But at the same time, it was the best time of my life. I've done incredible things and met incredible people.

Though the 7 1/2 weeks felt like a century, looking back on it now, training went by really fast at the same time. It was like a real life version of The Real World, flight attendant version. So you can only image how fun, crazy, and emotional it all was. Asking 60 people to uproot their lives to eat, sleep, and work together for 7 1/2 weeks can only be a whole ciaos of emotions.

Now that training is over, some of us have left the headquarters and moved to their bases, I can honestly say I miss everyone. It's weird not seeing everyone in our class everyday. Though I know they are only a phone call away, it's different not seeing them, sitting in class along with me. But with a simple click on Facebook, I can see my friends flying all over the world. And I can't wait to see them on the line, flying with me, just as we did during training.

I was lucky enough to start out at an international base so I have been traveling to places that I never thought I'd go. And though I've already been to a few places, I can't wait to go to even more. See more things; become the world traveler that I've always wanted to be. But don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you guys and my YouTube channel. I've decided that I'm going to combine the two, my two passions, and take you guys on the journeys that I'll be going on! That way, you guys can experience these new and exciting things that I'll be going through. Are you guys ready?!

New: Maybelline Volum' Express Pumped Up! Colossal Waterproof Mascara

Now it's no secret that I love me a new mascara. And to my surprise, Maybelline has done it again and come out with a new mascara for their Volum' Express line.

First things first, I normally don't go for a mascara with such a big brush. I've long accepted that I don't have big eyes so having a big brush only guarantees that mascara will get all over my eye area. But being the optimist that I am, I dropped this product in my basket and hoped for the best.

I usually judge a mascara after using it one time. But I've come to realize for every mascara, you don't really start seeing results after using it a few times. And boy am I impressed.

Not to my surprise, the more I use this mascara, the more I like it. It's definitely more of a lengthening mascara. However, it doesn't give you length like spidery legs where it looks fragile and can break any second.

On top of making my short lashes look a lot longer, it doesn't clump up on a girl. I'm the type that usually applies two coats of mascara, and even after so, it doesn't leave my lashes looking clumping and unappealing.

I really like this mascara and I totally recommend it to those that have short lashes like I do!

The Last Push

So now that I've blown my cover and told everyone that I have been secretly working on something, I find it only appropriate that I kind of update everyone on what's going on, without saying too much. 

Today, I'll be flying out to complete the last assessment that will be the deciding factor of whether or not I get this! Yeah, no pressure. 

You would think someone that's traveled as much as I have, done as much assessments as I have, I wouldn't get nervous anymore. But quite the opposite. I feel the more I do this, the more nervous I get from time to time. Maybe because I have expectations of myself now. I know what performing well is; being able to leave the room knowing everything went smoothly is way better than questioning every occurrence that happened on your flight back home. 

And quite frankly the worst part is the wait. You know you've done everything to the best of your ability, it's all out of your hands now. Now, all you can do is wait. 

Great...

Accompanying me on this flight is the lovely Seattle rain. Even waiting to board to making me crazy, and might I add, hungry! Ha ironic because I usually have weird stomach issues when I get nervous. 

Okay, now I'm just blabbering. 

Thankfully, I'm flying in the day before of my actually assessment day so I can better prepare myself. Now if only I can jump on my flight and get the ball rolling!

If It's Meant To Be, Then It'll Be

For the past few months, I have been working really hard to make one of my dreams become a reality. However, only those that I live with know exactly what I'm talking about and the extent of what's going on and how far I've come.

No, I'm not one of those people that likes secrets or hiding things from people. I mean, I have a blog and YouTube for God's sake! So keeping this all in has been anything but easy. But in this particular instance, I've come so far to have anything jinx it. And to top it off, I want it so bad that I don't want to take any chances; as much as I want to share everything with the people I love.

But then I got to thinking, I truly believe that our lives are predestined; at least the big things that happen to us are somewhat predestined. Who you will marry, how many kids you'll have, just to name a few. So whether it's a bump in the road to help you get back on your original path (a blessing in disguise), or the sign you needed to give you that last push; these things were all meant to happen.

So if this thing that I'm currently working on is meant to be, destined to happen, telling a few extra people so that I can share this happy experience in my life wouldn't hurt it right?! And if I am the true believer in destined life as I say I am, why would the idea of jinxes stop me from telling people, about anything?

Just like the Chinese tradition, you're not supposed to tell anyone about your pregnancy until you're 3 months pregnant. Otherwise you might scare the baby and it will go away (causing a miscarriage). Come on, what kind of crazy idea is that?! How is telling others about just joyful news scare a fetus away?

Why do we let these crazy superstitions play a role in our lives, even a little one... Could it be that we need excuses and explanations to help justify when things don't go as planned? Because I know for sure when good things happen to us, things that we want to happen, we don't say "This happened because I didn't open my mouth prematurely!" So then why when things go astray, we often times think back on what we could have done wrong. With the following statement usually going like, "I knew I shouldn't have [insert excuse]."

Life is about chances, opportunities, and things that are meant to be. And as comforting as it is to have some sort of explanation, even if it's something you're conjuring up in your mind, to help us get over things that don't pan out. That shouldn't be the same reason we scare ourselves into not sharing. If you have great news that you want to share, share it. If you got a call back and you want to tell all your girlfriends, tell all your girlfriends! And if bad luck struck and whatever you wanted didn't turn out the way you wished, I can guarantee it isn't because you said something to someone.

But to air on the safe side, I'm not telling anyone until I get the official green light. ;)

Spring in Seattle

Without a doubt, Seattle has to be the most beautiful during Spring. The sun's finally out, even for a little bit, and all the kids are outside playing, and the flowers are all in bloom.

I can honestly say, there is no place like Seattle in the Spring. The view is breathtaking and just stepping outside makes your day better. And since today is finally the weekend, we decided to take a trip up to West Seattle and enjoy the ocean breeze and have a little ice cream.
