Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream

I'm going to be honest with you guys when I say I don't think I've changed my skin care routine for quite some time. I think I've gotten it down to a T when it comes to the products  that I use because not only do they not break me out, they all work beautifully for my skin. What more can a girl ask for?!

I mean com'on...finding the right skin care products for you is like finding the perfect pair of jeans!

But the other day, as I was perusing through the shelves at Target, I stumbled across the newest Olay moisturizer and I couldn't help my amusement. Just the title itself was attractive enough - Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream.

And right then and there, I decided to put this little beauty in my basket and continued to the check out line.

First things first, the packaging is beautiful. I love the simplicity in the packaging with its clear, glass pot and silver lid. The shape and size of the container is identical to that of their original Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Face Cream which have won a number awards already. Now on to the more pressing matter, the product on the inside.

The first thing you notice about the Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream is its scent. It's a lovely clean scent that isn't overwhelming. Rather, it's the signature Olay fragrant that I personally really enjoy.

I've been using this product for about a month now and I must admit, I love the addition to my skin care routine. I've definitely noticed a difference in my skin tone - in that it is more even throughout the entire face. Having been wearing makeup for a number of years in addition to the damage the sun has done, discoloration is not uncommon. However, after using this product, I've noticed that my skin tone is must more even now. I do noticed that this is a product that is suitable for all skin types as well. Personally, my skin type is normal  to combination and this isn't a product that's overtly oily where it'll clog my pores and give the appearance of a disco ball, something that is never in style! Honestly, this Olay miracle worker gives the right amount of moisture, all while giving your skin a natural glow and even skin tone.

I definitely recommend the Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream to those that have skin discoloration. It's an incredible moisturizer that evens-out your skin beautifully. And at $30.00 a pop, I don't think you'll find another similar product that works, with the same price range.

Stay gorgeous

Within Your Means

Thanks to tumblr, twitter, Facebook, and any other form if social media, we are introduced to things that we might not otherwise be introduced to. Extravagant cars, luxury handbags, red bottom heels; just to name a few.

As much as we want to acquire all these amazing things, it's beyond important that we live within our means. Don't get me wrong, I catch myself doing this too. Of course I want a Celine handbag to add to my collection. But if the price tag is way out of my means, that should be a clear indicator that this isn't the time to buy it. The handbag will always be there, it could even get better with time, so why the rush?! Especially with a price tag like that.

People these days are always looking for the next thing, with an even bigger price tag, that they "need". What's even more frustrating is that they've decided they they are going to depend on someone else to help they get this. But let me tell you, if you aren't the one that's working towards this goal, let's say, you won't appreciate it when you get it. It'll just be another thing you can cross off your to do list.

But let's slow down a bit. Often times, you don't even "need" this thing. It's just a thing that you want, hoping that it'll help you fulfill some sort of emotion that you assume getting it will fill. But in actuality, it doesn't do anything besides adding another item to your wardrobe that you don't have room for or a vehicle that your garage can't fit. And before you know it, you're attention is on the new next thing. And the cycles just starts over again. Now the worst part of it all, not only are you not the one that's shielding out the money or if you are, you can't afford it and your bills are just racking up higher and higher! Ahhh

Of course, I'm not saying we can't or shouldn't splurge once in a while. If we've worked hard and want a little something something to congratulate ourselves, there's no shame in that! And let me tell you from my experience, it's so much more graitifying when I bought my 3.1 Phillip Lim handbag myself, with the money that I've hard worked hard for. Now everytime I look at that little beauty sitting in my closet, I only think of all the hard work that I personally put into to get it. I didn't have to count on or depend on anyone to. And ladies, that's the best feeling in the world!

Cancer. No, Not the Astrology Sign

Is it just me or does it seem like cancer becoming a much larger virus than we had ever imagined? It feels like it was only a few years ago when cancer was still pretty rare and the chances of you knowing someone with it was pretty slim. I wish we could go back to those days.

This last July, my mom was diagnosed with cancer. She's currently undergoing treatment and is anticipating a date for surgery to remove the tumor. Cancer is quite possibly the worst thing in the world. Not only for the patients themselves but also those that love them too.

I can't say the pain and exhaustion that I'm experiencing is anywhere near what my mom is going through. But at the same time, I hope people don't think that just because we aren't the ones with cancer that it's a walk in the park. Cancer sucks. Honestly, having gone through as much as I have, I can almost say that the pain is equal. Equal but most definitely in different ways.

Denial - Check. I think that's almost always the most common first reaction. No one wants to believe that this is happening to them, and more importantly, someone they know and love. Anger - Check. "Why me??" Not that we wish this upon anyone, but why me? Why us? And on top of it all; helpless - Check. This has to be the worst of them all.

Helpless.

Since the diagnosis, that's all you feel. There's nothing else you can do. Everything we do in life to prevent this day from happening has failed and there's nothing else we can do now. The only thing we can do is leave it to the doctors to prescribe the right amount of chemo, schedule the days we need to see them, and wait.

It's not as if my mom has the common cold and I can prepare her medication for her. It's not as if she has a broken arm and I can help scratch that part of her back she can never reach. Cancer has made me feel more helpless than ever. I can only watch aimlessly as she goes through treatment and pray that everything is working as it should be. Yes, everyone including my family back in Seattle are all trying to make lighter of the situation. Trying to keep my mom happy and position is now our only task.

But what about our own emotions that we are desperately trying to release? In order to help my mom stay positive, we must all think positively. But honestly, as people, we experience about a dozen different emotions throughout the day that needs to be released otherwise we'll all end up sick. However, in order to prevent this from affecting my mom in a negative way, we're all masking the pain and sadness inside. At least, we're trying.

Now I can't speak for anyone else, but as a 23 year old that's still experiencing life and growing up herself, I can only hide so much before I implode. Which would then cause me to explode. I think I need time off. Time off from my full time job that requires me to take care of my mom and just breath. To have a real minute to myself where I can sort through all the thoughts running through my brain so I can function again.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss: Check!

Now I know I'm definitely late on this train, but I must talk about it!

The Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss has been out for a while now, but I realize that it only recently came to Taiwan; and boy am I happy that it has.

(Left to Right: Super Natural, Pango Peach, Kiss Me Coral)

This series of lip glosses is literally amazing. It's affordable, pigmented, non-sticky, and comes in a number of shades! To start, I purchased these three shades as a tester but quickly realize that three just isn't enough in this case. The formulation of these lip glosses are great for wearing by itself or on top of your favorite lipsticks. And at $3.00 - $5.00 a pop, I'd say it's totally worth it.

I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the collection because I know it will be put to good use!

Cheers

RiRi Hearts M.A.C. In Action

Yes, I have finally busted out my new RiRi Hearts M.A.C quad and put it to good use - filmed a tutorial! Which you can find by clicking [here]!

Rihanna's Her Cocoa quad has four perfectly selected colors that's great for many purposes. Along with creating the perfect everyday makeup look, the colors are also build-able for a night time, going out, look.

Come check it out!

Voila, Hand Mask!

As a replacement for my monthly issue of Cosmopolitan and Elle (which I miss dearly), I have Beauty321. Now I must admit the content of the magazine is mostly up in the air as the publication is all in Chinese, but I get the gist of it. Thank goodness for pictures!

Next to being the best picture book that I get each month, the free samples are what really draw me in. The samples range from Bio-Essence Face Lifting Cream to a number of different face masks. But did you know there is a thing called a hand mask?! I swear, Asians come up with the darnedest things.

Upon seeing the cutely decorated package, I knew this was one product that I had to try first. I mean, come on! I've used a number of face masks throughout the years but never have I even seen a hand masks. This definitely intrigued me. And with the amount of times I wash my hands with harsh soap, I needed this.

Okay... here we go. The first thing you notice when you open the package is the overwhelming scent. Quite honestly, I can't even begin to describe the scent. It's not floral, it's not sweet. It's a smell. Pointless statement, I know. So inside the package, you'll find two specifically labeled gloves that are connected by the opening, neatly folded like Asian cloth face masks.

Inside the gloves is thick moisturizer that surrounds your hands thoroughly. You're supposed to keep the gloves on for 15-20 minutes for a full effect. And for this particular hand mask, not only does it moisturize your hands but it also whitens them as well.

You really notice a difference once you remove the gloves. You're more than welcome to massage the rest of the moisturizer in but I found it to be a tad bit sticky so I opted to wash just with cold water. As you can see from the picture, my hands are lighter than before, especially compared to the shade of my forearm.

I found this to be a very innovative product in the beauty community. As fall greets us with drier weather, it is important to not to neglect our hands. This hand mask is a quick way to fully moisturize your hands while whitening them. It's like a little spa in a glove.

Enjoy!
